Singapore

Singapore is the cleanest place in all of Asia. It is also considered a “developed” nation. It is a tiny city-state located on the southern tip of Malaysia (similar to Monaco and Vatican City). Off the coast is a small resort island known as Sentosa, which is still under development as it will be the future home of hotels, casinos, and oh yeah, a Universal Studios!

In Sentosa, you can walk through a Universal Studios-esque attraction called Images of Singapore which gives you their history of being a clustered group of different cultures molding into one people. There is also an underwater park with large sea life similar to that in Nha Trang, Vietnam.

The only problem I had with the aquarium was that there were hundreds of little hands pushing me as kindergarteners from probably every school in Singapore were there on a field trip.

While I was checking out the sting rays, I think I might have actually blurted out “Little hands! Little hands!” before I fumbled out of that mosh pit of five-year-olds. Then I had a Dean Winchester flashback and thought about leprechauns. (Why yes, even in Singapore my mind revolves around Dean Winchester…then I thought about Castiel, and the world was right again.)

Another thing about Sentosa…now, I’m an idiot when it comes to all things avian (I had birds when I was a child but all I remember was that one was blue and two were green), but I’m pretty sure there are peacocks walking around the island like ducks on the Cal Poly Pomona campus.

Also in Singapore is the Botanical Garden. I don’t have a green thumb, but the flowers were so gorgeous my mom kept squeeing over them. Also, my dad and I are complete idjits. XD
